Here's an update on the portfolio's performance.

The recent historic drop in the China market has certainly took a dent on my passive portfolio. I was expecting it to be on course to recovery since it is underwater from May onwards, but the heavy drop in the China market further diminish some of my returns YTD.
The US market continues to outperform with the YTD performance of Vanguard 500 Index climbing up to nearly 18%. Given the disparity of the performances till date and the fact that recovery in the China market might not happen by this year, I will not be expecting my passive portfolio to outperform the index this year. Though, I'm still positive that it will do so in a longer run.

The index continues to climb with a return of +2.38% in the month of July. It's also the second month since the inception of my portfolio that a negative monthly return occurs.
